Each SEEK student is assigned an experienced counselor who assists with academic matters such as course selection and choice of a major. Your SEEK counselor is also available to help with personal and financial issues that can affect college performance.
Students are encouraged to see their counselor at least three times per semester:
- At the beginning of the semester, for a goal-setting session;
- In the middle of the semester, to check academic progress and update financial aid; and
- At the end of the semester, to recap the semester's work and do program planning for the next semester.
Your instructor for the Freshman Seminar you take in your first year (under the auspices of the Freshman Year Initiative) will most likely be your SEEK counselor. You have access to our counseling services for as long as you are enrolled at Lehman.
