This is to advise you that as of January 2008, NIH SCORE applications must be submitted electronically.
- Each individual faculty research proposal will be submitted through Grants.gov using the SF424 (R&R) forms and application guide.
- SCORE offers three potential mechanisms (SC1, SC2 and SC3) for faculty research proposal submissions.
- The MATRIX below summarizes the program characteristics. Dominic Esposito will be happy to answer your SCORE related questions, help match you with a successful NIH applicant, and walk you through the SF-424 electronic submission process. Make sure you use the most recent SF424 (R&R) located at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/424/index.htm.

SC1 Research Advancement Award PAR-08-026
For those PIs at an advanced stage of development who seek to increase their research productivity to be able to compete for non-SCORE support. PI engaged in state of the art biomedical or behavioral research, and has a record of peer- reviewed publications
SC2 Pilot Project Award PAR-08-027
Early stages of development and interested in testing a new idea and/or generating preliminary data or for more experienced investigators interested in switching to a different field of research. Mentorship from established scientists is required for beginning investigators. Former MBRS PIs may apply only if they are pursuing a new line of research and they have no other active external support.
SC3 Research Continuance Award PAR-08-028
Research Continuance Awards are for PIs who have been engaged in scholarly research are published and who seek to continue to conduct competitive research of limited scope.
