Website for the David L. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships for study abroad, offered through the National Security Education Program (NSEP). "NSEP's role is to strengthen U.S. national security by helping educate U.S. citizens to better understand and more effectively communicate with other world cultures and languages." Scholarships are given to study "in and about areas of the world other than Western Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Fewer than one of every three American students study in these critical world areas such as Africa, Asia, Eastern and Central Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East."
