COLLEGE IS POSSIBLE! - The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Town Hall Meeting
Date: June 09, 2012 || 10:00AM - 12:30PM The Hispanic Scholarship Fund and The Bronx Institute at Lehman College will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on June 9, 2012 to provide students and their families with information about the importance of a college education. There will be two presentations happening simultaneously, one will be in Spanish and the other will be in English. All high school and middle school students are welcome to attend. A light brunch will be served.
"GEAR UP & GIVE BACK" - Friends of Van Cortlandt Forest Restoration
Date: June 09, 2012 || 10:00AM - 02:00PM Volunteers can expect an enjoyable and rewarding day giving back to their environment. The experienced and knowledgeable staff will:
- give background information about the park and about the Friends
- identify the plants you will be working with
- give instructions as to proper tool usage and plant care when applicable
- provide tools and work gloves

"GEAR UP & GIVE BACK" - World Vision
Date: May 12, 2012 || 10:00AM - 02:00PM World Vision is a humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. This organization provides resources to needy schools.
This day will consist of students working in the organization’s Bronx warehouse preparing and sorting the donations for the teacher store.
