Bronx Institute at Lehman College Receives
Grant from Con Edison
Con Edison recently awarded a program expansion grant to The Bronx Institute at Lehman College for ENLACE, the Institute’s rigorous academic enrichment program for high performing Latinos from Bronx middle and high schools. Con Edison, a longtime supporter of educational initiatives in the communities where it provides power, will make a difference in the lives of ENLACE students by enriching the services that the program provides.
“We are grateful to Con Edison for supporting ENLACE,” said Professor Herminio Martinez, the Executive Director of The Bronx Institute and a member of the Department of Middle and High School Education. “Con Edison’s support will help nurture ENLACE’s growth over time.”
Launched in 2001, ENLACE has served more than 200 students, helping them graduate and get into their college of choice. Students receive advanced academic enrichment support in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math), as well as in critical writing and other college-preparatory areas.
