2001 CUNYAC Commissioner's Cup
The 2001 CUNYAC Commissioner's Cup was also presented at the
ceremony to the top athletic program in both the Senior Division and
the Community College Division. It came to no one's surprise to see
Borough of Manhattan Community College win their fourth straight
Commissioner's Cup. The Panthers won three CUNYAC Championships this
year, Women's Volleyball, Men's Soccer and Women's Basketball to
remain the only Community College to win the four-year old trophy.

On the other hand, it was a wonderful surprise to see the College
of Staten Island surpass three-time defending champ Hunter College
by a mere one-half of a point, 110 to 109.5. The Dolphins claimed
their first ever Commissioner's Cup after winning CUNYAC
Championships in Women's Swimming and Women's Basketball. CSI also
claimed Regular Season titles in Women's Tennis, Swimming,
Basketball and Softball; while adding Men's Basketball, Tennis and
Baseball.
The event is the culminating night of the year for CUNYAC and on
that note we would like to thank every student-athlete, every
referee, every coach and assistant coach, every athletic staff and
support staff member and every fan for making the past year such a
success. |
