Player of The Week - Dewayne Thomas, Queensborough Fr. G, 6'1", Bronx, NY

The newcomer to the Tigers didn't waste any time in acclimating himself to the QCC winning ways. The 6'1 transfer from Globe via Rice High School helped his team improve to 5-1 in CUNY play with a convincing win over Bronx. Thomas led the way with 25 points and 6 assists as well as much needed 13 rebounds on a team that doesn't have a single player over 6'3".

Rookie of The Week - Juan Ortiz, Hostos Fr. / F / 6'7" / Queens, NY

The rookie out of Queens has shored up the middle for the Caimans while providing a muchneeded defensive presence. Ortiz paced Hostos to a 3-2 week, including a 2-1 mark in CUNY action. He posted 24 points and 10 boards in the victory over Bronx while adding 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks versus BMCC. For the week he accumulated 20.8 points and 8.0 rebounds.
