Player of The Week - Shayne Smith, BMCC So., 5'10", G, Queens, NY

The sophomore point guard out of Dwight School earns his first weekly honor after leading the Panthers to four consecutive wins, including two CUNY victories. Smith, an honorable mention All-American as a freshman, averaged 22.0 points and 9.3 assists last week while shooting 50% from the floor. He tallied a career high 14 assists in the conference win over Queensborough. He scored a season-high 25 in the win over Bronx.

Rookie of The Week - Roderick Stevens, BMCC Fr., 6'1" G, Queens, NY

Stevens has bloomed quickly into a much-needed offensive weapon for BMCC. During a 3-0 week for the Panthers the fresh-man out of August Martin High School averaged 18.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.0 steals while hitting 25 of 50 shots from the field. He had a game-high 22 points in the CUNY win over Queensborough.
