Player Of The Week


EDWIN CACERES, CCNY Sr. / G / 6'2" / Queens, NY

The John Bowne High School Alum was solid in the 2-0 week for CCNY, shooting 58% from the field and 73% from the charity stripe while averaging 23.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4 assists per game. In the win over Staten Island, the Queens native tallied 23 points and 6 assists while pulling down 11 boards. His solid performance continued when the Beavers took on York, scoring 24 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. CCNY is currently on a 4 game winning streak, all of which are conference wins.


Rookie Of The Week

SHACUN MALAVE, CITY TECH Fr. / C / 6'7" / Bronx, NY
Malave receives his fourth CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honor. In a 1-2 week for the Yellow Jackets, the El Salvador native and Bronx resident averaged 19 points, 15.3 rebounds, 6.3 blocks and 2.7 assists while shooting 75% from the line and 49% from the floor. For the season, the second semester addition is averaging 18.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, 5.1 blocks, 2.8 steals and shooting .688 from the free throw line.
