Player Of The Week

GARY ETIENNE, Baruch JR. / C / 6'6” / Jamaica, NY Etienne scored 31 points with 11 rebounds in the two games, shooting 80% from the field to lead the Bearcats in wins over Western Connecticut and their tournament host, Vassar over the weekend. In the championship game, the junior scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half to give Baruch a 20-point halftime lead, and earn himself the Tournament Most Valuable Player honor. The Bearcat men will play the inaugural game at the new ARC Arena on Tuesday night when they host New Paltz.

Rookie Of The Week

KYLE LOCKETT, Lehman FR. / G / 6'1” / White Plains, NY A newcomer to the Lehman campus, Lockett is tied for the team scoring lead after two games with 17 points. In the two contests, he averaged 8.5 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting 6-13 from the floor and 3-4 from the line. Unfortunately, the defending North Division champs are 0-2 after playing two NCAA Tournament teams from last season, Clark (MA) and King's (PA). The Lightning open up their CUNYAC schedule on Tuesday with a visit to CCNY.

COMEBACK KIDS DO IT AGAIN, CSI DOWNS RAMS 65-58

11/26--The men's basketball team was looking to go 3-0 all time against Farmingdale when the Rams visited the Sports and Recreation Center for the Dolphins' home opener.  However early in the 2nd half with the Dolphins down by 7, things weren't looking too good.  But CSI got inspired play down the stretch, leading the Dolphins to their 2nd straight come from behind victory, as they defeated the Rams, 65-58, sending their record to 2-1 on the young season and giving new head coach Brian Gasper his frist win in the friendly confines of the Sports and Recreation Center.  Stanley Etheridge led the way for CSI with 15 points on 3-5 shooting from beyond the arc.  Newcomer Terry Downing added 14 points, including 4 treys.  John Smith chipped in with a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
