Athlete of The Week -MAUREEN MCBRIDE, HUNTER, Sr., Ridgefield, CT

McBride


A senior who has never lost a race against CUNY competition, McBride won all 12 events she entered in Hunter’s last two meets. In a dual meet win over John Jay, she swam the 100 yard butterfly in 1:11.32 and 28.29 in the 50 yard freestyle, while swimming a leg of the two winning relays. Against Baruch and Manhattan College, she swam both buttery fly races, taking the 50 meter race in 32:31 and the 100 meters in 1:20.70.


Rookie of The Week - GINA TROISE, STATEN ISLAND Fr., Staten Island, NY

Triose, a freshman from St. Joseph’s by the Sea high School has continued to develop for the Dolphins. In a home meet against Lehman, she won both the 200 yard individual medley (3:12.00) and the 100 yard individual medley (1:23.44), the later was her personal best. Against SUNY-Maritime, Troise won the 200 yard freestyle and swam a leg on the 200 yard medley relay, which won in 2:22.71.

Athlete of The Week - EUGENE GLEBOV, STATEN ISLAND So., Brooklyn, NY

 

A sophomore formerly of James Madison High School in Brooklyn, Glebov set a CSI school record with a 58.28 in the 100 yard butterfly versus SUNY-Maritime. He also swam part of the winning 200 medley relay. In a CUNYAC win over Lehman, Glebov won both the 50 yard butterfly (28.13) and the 100 yard butterfly (1:20.81) to lead CSI to a 159-93 win at home.
 

Rookie of The Week - KEITH MARSH, STATEN ISLAND Fr., Staten Island, NY

Marsh, a freestyle and backstroker was impressive in the squad’s last two meets. In a win over the Lightning the Tottenville HS alum won the 50 yard backstroke (31.22) and the 200 yard freestyle (2:06.84). He followed with another two wins versus SUNY-Maritime in the 200 yard freestyle (2:02.53) and the 500 yard freestyle (6:09.90).
