Player of The Week
Peter Strachnyi,Staten Island Fr. / 5'11 / For. / New York, NY
The freshman forward got the Dolphins rolling against Centenary in a non-conference
matchup. Strachnyi, a 5'11 forward out of Environmental Studies High School was unstoppable in netting a hat
trick for CSI. He headed in his first collegiate goal in the 29th minute, then used a solo dribbling
effort to net his second goal while pouncing on a rebound to finalize the scoring
and earn Player of the Week honors. |
Rookie of The Week
Douey Wright, CCNY Fr. / 6'2 / FOR. / Mt. Vernon, NY
The Beavers have added some quality
youth to their championship drive as freshman
forward Douey Wright will attest. The
Mt. Vernon resident (Cornwall HS) helped
CCNY got off to a 2-1 start including their
8-0 drubibng of SUNY-Maritime. Wright
scored two first-half goals and assisted
on two others in the win while also netting
two goals in the season-opening victory
over Polytechnic. He leads CCNY with 10
points from three games.
