Player of The Week

Byrne
Gary Byrne, CCNY Sr. / D / New York, NY

Last season, Byrne was the Beavers' top playmaker and led the team to the CUNY final and the ECAC Championships. This year coach Ray D'Argenio moved the allstar back to sweeper and the team defense is better than ever, yielding only ten goals in thirteen games. Last week, the Presentation HS alum, helped CCNY top CSI and finish undefeated in CUNY heading into the playoff. The Beaver defense has allowed only one goal in their last four contests.

Rookie of The Week

Raphael Ospina, Hunter Fr. / MF / Fresh Meadows, NY

A product of Queens' Cardozo High School, Ospina scored the game-winning goal in Hunter's upset win over City Tech last Wednesday in the second half. The 5'7" freshman also had an assist in the Hawks win over Centenary. With their two wins Hunter has momentum on their side heading into Saturday's quarterfinal at #4 seed Staten Island.
