Player of The Week

PenacoMarilyn Penaco, Hunter Jr./#3 flight / Bronx, NY

One of the veterans of the defending champion Hawks, Penaco sports a 20- career singles record against CUNY opponents. Last week in her first conference action of the year, she topped Brooklyn's Yolanda Hillocks (6-4, 7-5) and John Jay's LaToya McCrea (6-0, 6-2) to start 2002 with a 2-0 mark. The Kennedy HS alum also paired with Hunter #1 Maureen McBride to win their two doubles matches.

Rookie of The Week

Arathi Reddy, Staten Island Jr./#2 flight / Staten Island, NY

A native of Staten Island, Reddy transferred to CSI this year and resumed the sport she played at Susan Wagner High School. In three CUNYAC matches she went undefeated in both singles and doubles. Individually, Reddy beat City Tech's Danielle Macias 6-1, 6-0; Baruch's Helena Durst 10-3 and Lehman's Micaela Tabing 6-3, 7-5.
