2004 ECAC Metro NY/NJ Men's Basketball Championship

CSI Men Fall In ECAC Semifinals To Finish Season

Staten Island, NY - The #4 Dolphins dropped a 90-73 decision to host #1 Ramapo College in the 2004 ECAC Metro NY/NJ Men's Basketball Tournament Semifinals. CSI couldn't seem to match Ramapo's intensity in the first half, as the Roadrunners forced 15 Dolphin turnovers. Ramapo raced out to a 15-4 opening, and held CSI to just 30% shooting (9-30) in the frame. CSI showed signs of life in the second half, cutting the Ramapo lead to as few as 11, 41-30. Michael Stewart caught fire for CSI, finishing with a game-high 20 points. The Roadrunners responded however, posting a 7-0 run to take back the commanding lead, as Eliazar Velez notched 20 points in only 17 minutes of play. The loss ends CSI's season with a record to 19-8. Ramapo extended its record to 22-6 and will host #3 NYU in the ECAC Metro Championship.
