Fresh off CUNYAC Most Valuable Performer honors at the recent indoor championships
where she won three events including the 55 meter hurdles, Spaulding
qualified for the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100 meter hurdles
with a 14.62 clocking, which currently stands second in NCAA Division III.

AQUINAS HS • BRONX, NY
The two-time defending CUNYAC champion in the hammer throw had a
personal best haul of 40.98 meters over the weekend at the Terrapin
Invitational at the University of Maryland in College Park. Howard, a senior
from the Bronx, also had a throw of 24.51 meters in the Discus.

IRONI DALED HS • TEL-AVIV, ISRAEL
The sophomore won the 5,000 meter run at the Wagner Invitational in 15:34.70,
beating out ten Division I and II runners. The Tel-Aviv native set a new
careerbest
time, improving on his 2003 mark by 41 seconds. By comparison, last
May in the CUNYAC Championships he ran 16:36.72 to take the title.

The freshman is making great strides for the Cardinals, as the hope to
recapture the CUNYAC title for the fourth time in five years next month. The
Lawrence resident won the triple jump at the Wagner Invitational with a
jump of 13.04 meters. He also placed fourth in the long jump (5.86m). |
