Female Track Athlete of The Week

Returning to Hunter’s line-up for the first time since last May’s ECAC Championships,
the Sheepshead Bay product was a member of the sprint medley
relay team that took first in 4:28.13 at the Bergen/NJIT Relays. Individually,
she took a silver medal in the 100 meter hurdles in 18.48 seconds. A
day later, she took 14th in the 100 meter hurdles (19.77) at Yale.

MOUNT VERNON HS • MOUNT VERNON, NY
The Mount Vernon, NY native enjoyed a terrific performance at the Lions’
Invitational Track Meet. She won a gold medal and qualified for the
NCAA’s with an effort of 11.62 meters in the triple jump. In addiiton, she
placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of
26.02. She also placed seventh in the 100 meter hurdles in 15.43

TRUMAN HS • BRONX, NY
The freshman won the 100 meter dash (11.64) and the 200 meter dash
(23.62) at the Bergen/NJIT Relays on Saturday to help Hunter win the event.
The Queens, NY native was also a member of the first-place sprint medley
relay team in (3:42.65). He also teammed with Edem Tsakpoe to win the long
jump relay and Ryan McNena to place second in the javelin relay.

AKOSOMBO HS • AKOSOMBO, GHANA
The sophomore helped lead Hunter win the Bergen/NJIT Relays last Saturday.
The Akosombo, Ghana native won the long jump relay with Stefan
Pryce (9.91 meters) and placed third in the shot put relay with Michael
DeRise (18.68 meters). In addition, he placed fourth in the javelin relay
with Manuel Fernandes (50.68 meters). |
