Hunter's Zarowin Named 2004 CUNYAC Coach Of The Year
Hunter head coach Ed Zarowin was named the 2004 Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year by his
peers. The Hawks swept the 2004 CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships at St.
John’s University on May 9. It was the second consecutive title for Hunter’s men and the women captured their first championship
since 1999.
“It was a very gratifying day for us,” said Hunter head coach Ed Zarowin. “What makes it so exciting is that we had so many
young people do so well. Some of our kids were able to score points in events that were not considered to be their specialties.”
On the men’s side, Hunter outscored runner-up Medgar Evers, 191-116, while Hunter’s women garnered 207 points to
dethrone second-place Lehman (180), last years champion.
