Female Track Athlete of The Week

ERASMUS HALL HS • STATEN ISLAND, NY

The sprinter continues to enjoy a sensational season for the Hawks. The Staten Island, New York native won the 55 meter dash while breaking her own school record in 7.25 seconds at the Wesleyan Invitational over the weekend. The performance, in a field of 32 runners, moved the Erasmus Hall product up the list of provisional qualifiers for the NCAA Championships. She also placed second in the 200 meter dash in 26.44 seconds.

The rookie thrower made a nice debut for Hunter in the MAC Open at the 168th Street Armory this past weekend. She finished third in the shot put after tossing the implement 9.88 meters in her initial showing.

The defending CUNYAC champion in the indoor 5000 meter run, Holzman entered that race for the first time this season and took second place in a time of 16:06.33 at the Wesleyan Invitational. Holzman is also the defending CUNYAC champion in the indoor 1500 meter run. He competed in the event this past weekend at Wesleyan as well, clocking 4:32.23 to finish in 23rd place.

The four-sport athlete continues to excel in the jumps in his second season with the Hawks. The Akosombo, Ghana native placed fourth in the triple jump (12.64 meters) and fifth in the long jump (5.95 meters) at the Wesleyan Invitational this past weekend. The sophomore also participated in the 400 meter dash and finished 17th in 55.39.
