Player of The Week - Chris Hemmes, Staten Island, So., 5'10, LF, Staten Island, NY



Hemmes, a sophomore from Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island, had a strong week, going 7-11 at the plate for the 2-2 Dolphins. The sophomore, who is batting .349 on the year, had five RBI on the week, with at least one in each of the four games. Hemmes and CSI (1-1 CUNYAC) are scheduled to play Lehman (3-1 CUNYAC) on Sunday.



Pitcher of The Week - Mike Centeno, Lehman, Jr., 5'10, P, Bronx, NY

In two starts last week, Centeno threw 12 innings of shutout ball, earning wins over USMMA and Baruch. Combined, the Monsignor Scanlan High School alum gave up only six hits and one walk while striking out 13 batters. A transfer from Dominican College, he moved to 4-2 on the year.



Rookie of The Week - Mark Gonzalez, John Jay Fr., 6'0", P, Staten Island, NY

Gonzalez, a freshman hurler from Monsignor Farrell High School, improved to 3-0 on the season after throwing a complete game shutout against St. Joseph's on Friday (7 innings, 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 strikouts). He also threw an inning and two-thirds the day before against Nyack. On the year, he's got a 2.78 earned run average with 14 strikeouts in 32.1 innings.
