Player of The Week - OWEN NILES, CCNY Sr. / MH / Brooklyn, NY

The two-time CUNYAC and reigning NECVA Player of the Year is leading the Beavers once again in 2003. In a 2-2 week, the 6'3" star hit .427, averaging 6.56 kills, 3.31 blocks and 2.56 digs in 16 games of action. This included a whopping 35 kills (in 65 attempts) in a five set defeat to Medgar Evers. Currently Niles is ranked #1 in CUNYAC in kills (6.59) and blocks (3.19), #2 in hitting (.479) and aces (0.59) and is seventh in digs at 2.61 per game.

Rookie of The Week - RYAN REID, YORK Fr. / OH / Jamaica, West Indies

A 6'0" freshman outside hitter, Reid garners his first CUNYAC Rookie of the week for the Cardinals. Last week, despite two conference losses, the native of Jamaica averaged 3.29 kills (hitting .196), 3.57 digs and 1.1 blocks a game. Highlighting the week was 13 kills he had in a match against CCNY and the 17 digs he had in a match versus Brooklyn. Through 38 games this year, Reid is netting 1.57 kills, 1.84 aces, 1.73 digs and 0.65 blocks.
