Player of The Week

MICHELLE GHANDI, JOHN JAY So. / #5 / Manhasset Hills, NY

Ghandi, a native of Long Island's North Shore, went 2-0 in singles topping her opponents from Mount St. Vincent (6-3, 6- 2) and St. Joseph's (6-3, 6-1) easily, in winning her first CUNY honor. In doubles, the 5'2" graduate of Herricks High School split her two matches with partner Danielle Nitafin.

Rookie of The Week

BELINDA CAPE, BROOKLYN Fr. / #2 / Firbank, Australia

The import from the Land Down Under, Cape paired with Dana Caputo to provide the Bridges with an 8-5 doubles victory over Yeshiva last week. She fell in her singles debut 6-3, 6-3 at second singles prior to the doubles win. With the addition of Cape, Brooklyn hopes to improve on their second place finish at the CUNYAC Championships in 2002.
