Player of The Week

JACKIE VENTURA, JOHN JAY Sr. / #2 / Queens, NY

The Queens, NY native was a big factor in John Jay’s perfect 3-0 week. Ventura went a combined 6-0 at #2 singles and #1 doubles and helped lead John Jay to three conference wins. The Aldine product won all of her matches in straight sets. Ventura was aided by the strong play of her doubles partner, junior Liesel-Ann Amow.

Rookie of The Week

PAOLA AGUDELO, CCNY Sr. / #1 / Bucaramanga, Colombia

Agudelo helped CCNY claim a 4-2 record last week. Bucaramanga, Colombia native went 4-1 at #1 singles and was 2-1 at #1 doubles. The senior recorded straight set singles’ victories against her opponent from Lehman, Purchase, Staten Island, and Polytechnic. She also added doubles victories with her partner, sophmore Joanne Szczygiel, against Lehman and Staten Island.
