Player of The Week

ERJA VETTENRANTA, CCNY Jr. / OH / Jurva, Finland

Vettenranta, a two-time CUNYAC all-star was the National Division III leader in hitting percentage last season at .497. This year after six matches, she is off to a solid start with a .392 clip. The resident of Manhattan is averaging 3.9 kills and 3.5 digs a game, as the Beavers are off to a 4-2 start that includes straight-set victories over City Tech and Medgar Evers in CUNYAC play.

Rookie of The Week

LATISHA PEARSON,BARUCH Fr. / OH / St. Albans, NY

The Bearcats are already looking to Pearson, an impressive freshman to pounce on opponents, as indicated by her 102 attempts in their last 13 games. During that span that includes wins over York, Staten Island and Kean, the Francis Lewis High School graduate had a .284 hitting percentage with 41 kills, 60 digs (4.6 per game), 14 aces and 12 blocks.
