Player of The Week

JACQUELINE PERALTA, CCNY Fr. / OH / Manhattan, NY

The Brandeis graduate was extremely impressive in CUNY co-leader CCNY’s two victories last week. The 6-0 outside hitter averaged 4.57 kills and 4.57 digs per game and enjoyed a terrific .389 hitting percentage. She also added 8 service aces. Peralta opened the week with 11 kills (.458 hitting percentage), 8 digs and 6 service aces in the conference victory at Staten Island on Wednesday. She was even more spectacular against St. Joseph’s (LI) on Thursday, smashing 21 kills (.354)and garnering 24 digs.

Rookie of The Week

Ai HUA CHENG, CITY TECH Fr. / OH / New York, NY

The explosive outside hitter helped spark New York City College of Technology to a pair of victories last week. Cheng averaged 4.00 kills (.144 hitting percentage) and recorded 10 service aces. The Seward Park graduate pounded 19 kills and 4 aces in the sweep of Medgar Evers on Wednesday and added 9 kills, 6 aces, and 8 digs in the four-game victory over Poltytechnic on Friday. Cheng is now averaging 3.42 kills per game this season.
