Player of The Week

ERJA VETTENRANTA, CCNY Jr. / OH / Jurva, Finland

Vettenranta wins her third CUNYAC honor after posting some lofty numbers this past week for CCNY. The 5’7” junior outside hitter averaged 5.24 kills (.391 hitting percentage) and came up with 4.68 digs per game. She helped the Beavers vault into sole possession of first place after the team went a perfect 4-0 in CUNY competition and 6-1 overall this past week. Vettenranta ranks third in the conference in kills (4.05) and is sixth in digs (4.34).

Rookie of The Week

YANIZA DELOS SANTOS, LEHMAN Fr. / OH / New York, NY

Yaniza has been a terrific newcomer for Lehman this season and had an outstanding week. The 5’7” frosh averaged 3.07 kills (.337 hitting percentage) and added 0.70 blocks per game. She turned in her best match of the week in Lehman’s victory against Baruch, with 21 kills (.459 percentage) and 12 digs. The Norman Thomas grad is currently eighth in CUNYAC in kills (3.03) and is sixth in blocks (0.45) per game..
