Player of The Week - THERESA CAPUTO, STATEN ISLAND
Sr. / 3B-P / Curtis / Staten Island, NY


The senior hit .688 (11-for-16) and helped lead the Dolphins to four conference victories last week. The Curtis product enjoyed three multi-hit contests, including a six-hit explosion against Brooklyn. In that game, the third baseman/pitcher also scored five runs and drove in three more. The Staten Island native went 3-for-6 and knocked in two runs in the doubleheader sweep of John Jay. She completed the week with a 2-for-3 day (2 runs) against Medgar Evers.


Pitcher of The Week - KATHY MAHER, BARUCH
So. / P / James Madison HS / Brooklyn, NY


The Brooklyn product won a pair of conference games for the Bearcats last week. The sophomore allowed no earned runs and just six hits in 12.0 innings of work. In addition, the James Madison product fanned 16 and allowed just four free passes. Baruch’s ace allowed just two hits and struckout seven in 5.0 innings in a victory against York. In her second outing against John Jay, she yielded just four hits and fanned nine batters over 7.0 innings.


Rookie of The Week - SHIRLEY ARRIETA, LEHMAN
Fr. / C / Art & Design HS / Howard Beach, NY

The freshman put together an impressive week in helping lead the Lightning to a 4-2 mark. The hard-hitting catcher hit .500 (12-for- 24), scored 11 runs and swiped seven bags. The Howard Beach, New York native went 5-for-9, drove in three runs, and scored five more in the doubleheader sweep of Old Westbury. The Art & Design graduate continued her torrid pace with a 6-for-11 afternoon in the two victories against conference rival City Tech on Sunday.
