Player of The Week - Owen Niles, CCNY JR, 6'3, MB, Queens, NY

The junior middle blocker paced the Beavers on a three game winning streak with his exceptional all around play. Niles, a native of Barbados (Louis Lynch HS), collected 38 kills, 21 digs and 17 solo blocks in three straight set wins over CUNY opponents. His best effort came in the win over Hunter where he paced CCNY with 18 kills and 8 blocks. On the season the leaping master and CUNY All-Star leads the conference in hitting percentage at over 70%.

Rookie of The Week - Andre Edwin, Medgar Evers Fr, 6'3, OH, Grenada

The surprising Cougars are off to a hot start thanks to some very talented new-comers, including 6'3 outside hitter from Granada (Bishop's College). Edwin aided the Evers sweep for the week with 34 kills, 21 digs and 4 block assists in wins over York and Baruch. The rookie Brooklyn resident is smashing them down at 4.35 per game with a .435 hitting percentage, second best to Irwin Pascal.
