Player of The Week - Alejandro Flores, Lehman Fr, 6'7, MH, Moca, Dominican Rep.

Flores continues to pace the Lightning, who are winners of five straight , including four straight set victories last week. Flores collected 75 kills (6.25 per game), 22 blocks, 12 assists, 9 digs and 8 aces, for the #10 ranked team in the Nation. On the year, he is averaging 5.2 kills, 1.6 blocks and 0.5 aces. This is Flores' third CUNYAC Player of the Week honor this season.

Rookie of The Week - Andre Edwin, Medgar Evers Fr, 6'3, OH, Brooklyn, NY

The Cougars had a strong week, winning four out of five matches, including 2-1 in CUNYAC play, keeping the squad in fourth place. Last week, in 15 games, the native of Grenada averaged 4.9 kills, 2.3 digs, 0.4 aces and 0.3 blocks, while hitting at a .374 clip. It is Edwin's first Rookie of the Week award this season. With a win against NY City Tech or Lehman next week, the Cougars lock up a winning conference mark in only their second season of existence.

LEHMAN & CCNY STILL RANKED IN AVCA POLL
Three CUNY schools received votes in the March 5th AVCA Division III Coaches Poll, with Lehman slotted in 10th as the first NECVA school on the list, followed by CCNY in 11th and Hunter in 18th place. The new poll and stats will be released on Tuesday, March 12th.

CUNY MULTI-MATCH RESULTS...
On Saturday, the second CUNYAC Multi-Match day, where each of the 9 conference schools plays two matches, was held at Hunter, as the teams gear up for the CUNY Tournament. Here are the results:

Lehman Strikes Twice. Alejandro Flores had 17 kills in Lehman's 30- 16, 30-18, 30-20 win over Baruch. Vincent Yang had 12 kills for the Statesmen (4-10, 4-9 CUNY). Max Valerio had 11 kills in Lehman's 30-19, 30-16, 30-23 win over Hunter. Justin Stack had 10 kills for the Hawks. Lehman is 20-1, 12-1.

CCNY Cops A Couple. Welmer Magtoto had 27 assists in CCNY's 30-0, 30-13, 30-14 win over York. Binchu John had 11 digs for the Cardinals. Owen Niles had 15 kills in the Beavers 30-19, 30-21, 30-28 win over Medgar Evers. Irwin Pascal had 15 kills for the Cougars (9-8, 8-6 CUNY). CCNY is 17-3, 13-1.

John Jay Drops A Pair. Igor Meystelman and Andre Patnet both had 12 kills in John Jay's 32-30, 30-27, 30-27 loss to Medgar Evers. David Sealy had 50 assists for the Cougars. Igor Meystelman had 17 kills in the Bloodhounds 30-27, 26-30, 30-19, 32-30 loss to Baruch. Vincent Yang had 15 kills for the Statesmen. John Jay is 2-11, 2-11.

NYC Tech Loses Twice. Eder Mathelier had 14 digs in NYC Tech's 30- 0, 30-0, 30-22 loss to Brooklyn. Thomas Ku had 13 assists for the Bridges. Zhou Jun Luo had 14 digs in the Yellow Jackets 30-13, 30-14, 30-15 loss to Hunter. Alfred Daos had 15 kills and 14 digs for the Hawks (12-6, 9-4 CUNY). NYC Tech is 5-7, 5-7.

Brooklyn Defeats York. Adam Wysocki had 15 kills while Thomas Ku added 20 digs and 35 assists in Brooklyn's 30-23, 32-30, 30-21 win. Marvin Gray had 16 kills while Binchu John added 10 kills and 24 digs for the Cardinals (3-10, 3-10 CUNY). Brooklyn is 4-11, 3-10 CUNY.
