Player of The Week - Eric Zinke, CSI So., 5'9, CF, Staten Island, NY
A Staten Island native, last season, Zinke
decided to enroll at Baruch, serving as
the catalyst in the school's run to the
CUNYAC title, while earning himself
Rookie of the Year honors. This season,
the Farrell HS alum came back home to
the Island, where he is doing the same
for the Dolphins. Last week, as CSI went
6-0, Zinke was 13-23 with 10 runs, 9 RBIs
and 7 steals. He's batting .418 on the year
with 21 runs in 17 games.
Pitcher of The Week - Ted Maceda, CSI Fr, 5'8, P, Herndoni, VA
Maceda, a sophomore, was outstanding
last week. In two wins against Baruch, he
pitched two complete games (three days
apart), allowing one earned run, 13 strike-outs,
while giving up only 10 hits. Originally
from Herndoni, Virginia, Maceda recently
moved to NYC and currently sports
a 2.25 ERA.
Rookie of The Week - Miguel Jaquez, John Jay Fr, 6'1, C, Brooklyn, NY
In a win over St. Joseph's last week, the
rookie from Telecommunications HS in
Brooklyn went 2-4 with four RBIs, 3 runs,
2 walks, one double, one triple and had
one stolen base. On the week, he went 9-
20 with 7 runs and 7 RBIs. So far this season,
Jaquez is leading CUNYAC with a
.435 average.
