Player of The Week - Eric Zinke, Staten Island So. / 5'9 / CF / Staten Island, NY
The sophomore centerfielder kept the
Dolphins on a roll, as they won two more
CUNY games to push their record to 6-0.
Zinke (Farrell H.S.) paced CSI with a 5-7
day in the sweep of Lehman with three
runs scored and four batted in. He also
added three stolen bases, two doubles
and two walks. He leads CSI with a .402
bating average.
Pitcher of The Week - Lino Isabel, Staten Island Jr / 6'2 / P / Brooklyn, NY
The junior hurler out of New Utrecht H.S.
notched his fourth win of the season, going
the distance in knocking off Lehman.
His five-hit, seven strikeout performance
gave the Dolphins another CUNY Regular
season title. Isabel's season mark
stands at 4-2 with a 4.94 earned run aver-age,
along with 27 Ks in 23+ innings of
action.
Rookie of The Week - Miguel Jaquez, John Jay Fr. / 6'1 / Inf. / Brooklyn, NY
The league's top hitter was on the mark
once again, after going 7 for 16 over five
games (.438 average) with two doubles,
one home run and six runs batted in. He
also swiped four bases to run his season
total to 13. Jaquez (Telecommunications
H.S.) leads CUNY with a .448 bat-ting
average and 22 RBIs.
