Athlete of The Week - Irina Kaminskaya, Brooklyn - Sr., Soligorsk, Belarus

Irina Kaminskaya

A 5'7 senior for the Bridges, Kaminskaya was sharp in the CUNYAC season opener against John Jay, winning her three individual races- the 200 freestyle (2:30.64), 50 freestyle (29.65) and 50 butterfly (38.33) . She also had a win in the 500 freestyle against NJIT and second against Stevens Tech.

Rookie of The Week - Jessica Brushtyn, Staten Island - Fr., Staten Island, NY

On a very experienced Dolphins squad, Brushtyn, from Staten Island via Susan Wagner HS is making waves. A 5'2 freshman, she's swimming three freestyle events for the two-time defending CUNYAC champions (50m, 100m & 200 Relay) in the early going.

Athlete of The Week - Zafrir Kamusevitz, Brooklyn - So., Brooklyn, NY

Kamusevitz earned the first-ever CUNYAC Male swimmer of the week award after winning all four of his races in the Bridges only meet, an 88-57 win over Division II New Jersey Tech. The Madison HS alum won the 100 backstroke (1:10.37), 100 breaststroke (1:10.94) and combined for wins in the 200 freestyle relay (1:50.55) and the 200 medley relay (2:12.80).

Rookie of The Week - Mike Caputo, Staten Island - Fr., Staten Island, NY

A 5'8 freshman, Caputo also helped his team beat NJIT last week, winning the 100 freestyle (57.47) and finishing second in the 200 freestyle (2:15.24). A week earlier against Adelphi, the graduate of Curtis High School had three second place finishes.
