Burt Beagle - CUNYAC Statistician
Burt Beagle, a legend in New York City basketball
circles, started as the first Sports Information Director
at Baruch College back in 1968. Burt holds the
record for most consecutive basketball games
worked at any collegiate level. He has done the
book and both teams' statistics for 835 consecutive
games as of this printing, dating back to January
10th of 1969. Burt has not missed a CUNYAC Tournament
game since he became the official statistician
in 1970.
Beagle has also been the SID for CHSAA for over 25 years, and was inducted to its Hall of Fame in 1995. Burt
received the prestigious "Distinguished Service” award at the Haggerty/Met
Writers Banquet in 2001 and the first Ellis Bullock, Jr. award for service to CUNYAC.
