What has been the best part of being on the Tennis team?
The best part of being on the team was meeting students just like me with a passion for the game.
What do you wish to accomplish this year?
Academically I hope to finish this semester with a good GPA, so I can apply for graduate school in the spring.
What is the fondest memory of any season that you have played?
My fondest memory was in my first season as a freshman when I played in the Arthur Ashe stadium and won the CUNY championships at #2 singles. I was so nervous that I actually remember how my knees were shaking while I was playing.
What do you think is your best attribute or contribution to the team?
My best attribute to the team was my sense of dedication to the team, being at every practice and not missing one game. Also, I thought that my sense of leadership and encouragement was admired by my teammates.
What would you change about the team?
I don't like to look back and wish that things would have been different, so I wouldn't change anything especially with the team we had this season. I think in the four years I have played, this year's team showed the most dedication and team effort.
Are you glad to be at Hunter?
I'm glad to be at Hunter, who wouldn't love to go to college in the heart of the city.
Do you find it difficult to play a sport and attending college?
The only reason why I didn't find it difficult to go to college and play tennis at the same time is because of my passion for tennis and the love I have for the game.
Do you work? How many hours a week? Where?
I work at the Mackool Eye Institute in the billing department in Astoria about 18 hours a week. I also teach tennis at PS 6 in Manhattan in the after-school program.
What are some of your future plans, academically?
I plan to go to graduate school because as a teacher I will have 5 years to get my masters, it is a requirement.
Do you think that you will stay playing competitively after finishing college? Why?
I will try to play competitively. But right now in my life I want to get my career on the road and finish my masters in the next two years. But tennis will always be part of my life; it doesn't have to be competitively, but just for fun.
Is this the only sport that you do?
I love to play all sorts of other sports, basketball, volleyball, swimming, etc...I believe sports will keep me young, motivated and healthy.
