What has been the best part of being on the basketball team?
Having a sense of belonging. There is an understanding that we are all there for a common purpose. This presence is felt on the court and I think that is what I most appreciate.
What do you wish to accomplish this year?
As an individual I hope to become a stronger ball player. But as a team, I hope for us to advance further into the NCAA's as compared to last year.
What is your fondest memory of any season that you have played?
In all the years I have played I never won a championship. Last year my teammates and I were given the opportunity to change that, and we did, it was an amazing experience.
What do you think is your best attribute or contribution to the team?
I try to bring as much hustle to the team as I can. I can have a real off night and my jump shot is not there, but hustle always will be. Hustle is about heart, and no one can take that away.
What would you change about the team?
Given that talent is here, I wouldn't change much. But I truly believe that talent only takes you so far. All I ask of my team is hard work and effort.
Are you glad to be at the College of Staten Island?
Deciding on whether I wanted to go away or stay home for school was a big decision for me, but when I look at the big picture, I am exactly where I want to be.
Do you find it difficult to play a sport and attending college?
It is definitely not easy. Fitting my job into my schedule is also difficult but I realize I have priorities. There is a time for work and a time to play.
What other interests do you have other than basketball?
Writing, music and movies.
What are some of your future goals in life?
A few years from now I hope to have a career and a family, maybe even coach someday.
