Wopo Holup's cast bas reliefs Elevated Nature I-VI are located on train station platforms along the IRT No. 1 subway line between 125th Street in Manhattan and 231st Street in the Bronx. Images of birds, squirrels, and treetops relate to the surrounding cityscape and remind the traveler of those glimpses of nature which can be seen from this elevated portion of the subway line. Holup has created fifty molds which are reconfigured in groups of ten to twelve cast concrete panels at six stations. There will be a total of seven when completed.
