Gregg LeFevre's Bronze Map Relief is a large-scale map of the Bronx with about two hundred relief designs incorporated in it. The work is a collaboration between the artist and forty students from P.S. 9 and P.S. 209. The design is a result of a school-wide competition in which students submitted drawings of interesting places and landmarks in the Bronx as their proposals. The children's drawings range from well-known landmarks to places from the history of the Bronx. LeFevre's project, with its map of the school's neighborhood, ties it to a specific place and reflects a close collaboration with its community and daily users. More about the Percent for Art Program
