BUILDING SECURITY

Security Procedures

The Public Safety Office is located in the northeast corner of The APEX. It is necessary to have security in order to preserve the program areas for our students, faculty, staff and users of the building. A state-of-the-art closed-circuit, camera-monitoring system, motion detectors, sprinkler and fire alarm systems are placed in the pool area, gymnasiums, weight rooms, equipment areas, and other spaces to ensure both safety and security of the building. Public Safety personnel will be stationed in various areas of the facility with a guard posted at the entrance of the building.

Entrance Procedures

Admission to the Facility: All users of the APEX must present a valid APEX membership I.D. Card upon entrance to the building and upon request in the various exercise rooms, pool and cage area. Such use of the APEX shall be in accordance with announced facility rules, regulations and schedules. General facility use will be available, in accordance with the availability of appropriate supervision and security, at times which do not conflict with the departmental, athletic, or other program uses.
