Lightning's Dorothy Jean-Pierre Shines At Bard Invitational

NY – The Lehman College women’s and men’s
cross country units participated in the Bard College Invitational Saturday
afternoon on the campus of Bard College. Lehman’s women’s squad
finished 7th overall in the race with 212 points, while the men
’s
team only boasted three competitors on the day and was unable to score for
the meet. The event served as a prelude to the Lightning Invitational that
is set to take place on Sunday, September 30 at Van Cortlandt Park.
On the women’s side of the meet, Lehman standout Dorothy Jean-Pierre continued her impressive efforts in the early stages of the season, as she finished in 3rd place overall with a time of 21:24 in the 5k race. It was Lehman’s highest faring on the day and 2nd best overall time by a Lehman runner this year.
In the men’s 4.78k race, senior Raul Sanchez finished with the top time for the Lightning for the third time in as many weeks, as he completed the course in 32:33, good for 66th place overall.
Lehman’s cross country squads will return
to action on Sunday, September 30, as they will participate in the Lightning
Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park at 10:15am.
