Kim Santoiemma
3rd Season
A former member of the Lehman Lightning softball team, takes the reigns as head coach for the second year after finishing her debut as a college coach with a 10-15 (4-8 CUNY) record. She looks to a successful season having recruited heavily in the off-season.
Coach Santoiemma graduated from Lehman College in 2002 with a degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education. As a member of the Lightning softball team she played a major role in helping her team compete. The four-year captain started every game of her career with the Lightning including the school's first CUNYAC championship game since 1986 in 2001.
As a first year collegiate coach, Santoiemma had two of her players ranked in the NCAA statistical categories. Senior shortstop Stephanie Rodriguez was ranked sixth in the nation in batting average (.522), fourth in runs batted in (1.40 p/g) and fifth in runs scored (1.32) while teammate, freshman catcher Shirley Arrieta ranked fourth averaging 1.36 runs per game. The 2004 Lightning squad also ranked fourth in the nation in scoring (7.80 runs p/g) and stolen bases (3.04).
The Bronx native also serves as the Senior Women's Administrator
and NCAA Compliance Officer for Lehman. In addition to her many responsibilities
to the Lehman College Athletic family, Santoiemma also takes on the position
of Assistant Director of Championships for the CUNY Athletic Conference.
Kim helps coordinate and run the conference's twenty-three championship
tournaments each year.

Coach
Melissa Torres
3rd Season
Melissa Torres enters her second season as an assistant coach of the Lehman College softball team. Torres works with the development of the young squad's pitchers and catchers and also serves as the Lightning's third base coach. Coach Torres biggest accomplishment this year was watching her senior pitcher hurl a no-hitter in a conference match-up versus the New York City College of Technology Yellow Jackets.
A graduate from St. Thomas Aquinas College in 1997 with a degree in Criminal Justice, Torres was a member of the Lady Spartans basketball and softball teams. Torres is 1 of 13 players to score over 1,000 points in her collegiate basketball career. She was also an all conference and all tournament selection in both sports from 1994-1997.
A native of the Bronx, Coach Torres is a 1993 graduate of St. Raymond Academy.
She returned to her alma mater in 1997 as a Physical Education and health
teacher, as well as the school's athletic director and Head Coach of the volleyball,
basketball and softball teams.
Assistant Coach
Moises Rivera
1st Season
Moises Rivera enters his first season as an assistant coach of the Lehman College softball team. Coach Rivera was a former lightning player from 1998 to 2002 where he lead the men’s baseball team to two CUNY finals appearances. Coach Rivera also was an assistant coach for the men’s baseball team in 2004. During his stay as an assistant coach for the baseball team coach Rivera worked with the catchers and infielders. Coach Rivera will work with the development of the lady lightning catchers and infielders.
A graduate from Grace Dodge Vocational High School in 1996 he was a medial assistant major. Mr. Rivera was named to the first team all Bronx division B all star his senior year. Mr. Rivera is a native of the Bronx, and works full time for Toyota.
