Lightning And Beavers' Tennis Match Halted Due To Darkness

New York, NY –Tuesday afternoon, the Lightning opened up their conference portion of the 2007 schedule by welcoming the CCNY Beavers to the Lehman College Tennis Complex. Following a 50 minute delay, the Lightning showed no signs of rust from the downtime. In doubles play, the the Lightning’s combination of Evuana Neville and Chanda Em put together a very impressive performance at No. 1 doubles, defeating the Beavers’ duo of Medinah Chin by a score of 8-2. At No. 2 doubles, Lehman’s pairing of Aurora Peters and Jennifer Merkel notched a doubles victory, downing CCNY’s combination of Nalini Chandebal and Kristene Enriquez.

Aurora Peters continued her sensational afternoon during singles competition, scoring a 6-1, 6-4 victory over CCNY freshman Josephina Allotey.

As seven o’clock approached, the teams began losing daylight, and the match was then halted with the Lightning leading the Beavers 3-2. The four remaining singles sets will be completed later this season on a date to be announced.
