I-20 Transfer Procedure |

The U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires F-1 students to complete a school transfer procedure when changing to a new school. This procedure must be completed within 15 days from the start date on your Lehman College I-20 to maintain your F-1 status.
School Transfer Procedure:
Inform the International Student Advisor at your
current school that you plan to attend Lehman College.
Have the International Student Advisor complete Part 11 of the Transfer Form
and return it to Lehman.
Complete the Affidavit of Support and attach the
necessary bank statements or other financial documents that show proof of your
ability to support your study in the United States.
Complete the Application for Form I-20 and return it with financial documents.
Should you depart the USA before attending Lehman College
use your Lehman College SEVIS I-20 to reenter the USA.Please bring your passport, visa, I-94, and your current I-20 to the International Student Services Coordinator at Lehman College. Your “transfer” will not become final until you register for classes. This will need to be done no later than 15 days from the beginning date stated in #5 on your Lehman I-20.
