Health Center

The Student Health Center is a primary health care facility available to all Lehman College students with a valid ID. Most of the services are free of charge due to the student activity fee included in your tuition. Other services are available for a small fee. Our goal is to provide the students at Lehman College with quality care. Students' health care needs are treated with respect, integrity and compassion. When you call for an appointment, we strive to see you as quickly as possible. Your lifestyle, stress factors, and cultural indicators are part of the treatment plan that your health care provider develops with you. Care and treatment are confidential. When your treatment requires more than we can offer, we provide community-based referrals.

Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic

The Lehman College Speech and Hearing Center is a not-for-profit community service facility that has been in operation for more than twenty-five years. The mission of the center is two-fold:

1. To provide speech-language evaluation and therapeutic services for individuals in the Lehman College community and the surrounding communities.
2. To provide practical clinical training for students in the graduate program in speech-language pathology.

Evaluations and therapy are conducted for all types of speech-language problems including articulation disorders, voice disorders, stuttering, delayed speech and language and all types of speech and language problems that occur following a stroke or other brain injury. Hearing screenings are provided in our audiology lab. The fees are low ($150 for a semester of therapy and $75 for an evaluation) but can still be adjusted on a sliding scale basis.
No one is ever turned away because of inability to pay evaluations and therapy are conducted by graduate student clinicians under the supervision of New York State licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists. The graduate program in speech-language pathology, including the speech and hearing center, is accredited by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
