Ang Lama

Ang Lama is the College Assistant in the Department of Middle and High School Education (MHSE). She recently graduated with B.S. in Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition with a concentration in Culinary and Community Health.

As the College assistant, Ang will provide support and connect students to resources, assist with outreach efforts, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for students and staff in MHSE.

Ang is passionate about nutrition education, food justice, and food accessibility, especially for those who lack the necessary resources. During her college career, she facilitated the Food Justice program and “Farm To Table: Conversations Around the Table” under the Office of Campus Life. These programs included gardening and cooking workshops intended to reconnect students to nature and give insight into our current food system. She also participated in the 9-week Urban Foodways internship offered by the New York Botanical Garden. She has also completed the CUNY Food Justice Leadership Fellowship and a 6-month internship with Edible Schoolyard NYC and CUNY Lehman College Food Justice Peer Educator Advocacy Program.
