Department of Social Work
The Department of Social Work is one of the four academic departments within the school of Health Sciences, Human Services & Nursing. The department offers programs leading to a B.A. with a major in Social Work or a Masters of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree. The undergraduate social work program has been fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1983. The M.S.W. program admitted its first group of students in 2005 and has been fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since February 2008. Both programs prepare ethical, competent and knowledgeable social workers for work in social service agencies and organizations serving urban populations.
