Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership School District Leader

This certificate in School District Leadership leads to positions including superintendents, assistant superintendents, and directors. This curriculum will prepare you to build antiracist and social justice principles to become the educational leaders who can be catalysts for school/district change and improved student performance.

MS in Counselor Education: Clinical Mental Health Counseling

MS in Counselor Education: Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CE:CMHC)

This two-year, full-time, hybrid program leads to a New York State limited permit as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and prepares you for full LMHC licensure. The program focuses on anti-racism and anti-oppression principles in effective mental health promotion, intervention, and treatment. Candidates work in community agencies, substance misuse programs, hospitals, businesses, and private practice. Individual, group, couple, and family counseling skills are addressed.

MS Ed in Counselor Education: School Counseling

MS Ed in Counselor Education: School Counseling (CE:SC)

Start your career as a K-12 school counselor in this three-year, part-time program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs. The curriculum focuses on anti-racism and anti-oppression principles in the effective promotion of students’ academic and social-emotional welfare, with attention to college- and career-readiness. The program leads to professional certification by the New York State Department of Education.

MS Ed in Educational Leadership School Building Leader

MS Ed in Educational Leadership/School Building Leader

Prepare for initial New York State Department of Education certification in School Building Leadership through this 30-credit, two-semester program. The curriculum emphasizes racial equity and social justice principles in its cultivation of urban school leaders who are deeply committed to school change and improved student performance. You will learn how to bridge theory to practice through field experiences and hybrid instruction (face-to-face and online).

MS Ed in Educational Leadership School Building Leader

ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP/SCHOOL BUILDING LEADER

Prepare for positions of leadership (e.g., principals, assistant principals, department chairs, etc.) in urban schools with diverse populations. This 21-credit program is designed for candidates who already hold a Master’s degree in education or related field for positions. This program can be completed fully online.

MS ED in Literacy Studies

MS ED in Literacy Studies

The 36-credit program leads to professional certification in one of these concentrations: Birth – Grade 6, Grades 5 – 12, or a dual certification program in Special and Literacy Education. The programs focus on literacy as a dynamic, interconnected and socio-cultural process that includes reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing.

Ed. D. in Organizational Leadership, Development and Change

Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership, Development, and Change (EDOL)

Equip yourself to become an agent of positive change within your organization or community, alongside a cohort of talented peers from a variety of professional backgrounds. The EDOL program is a 3-year cohort model offered fully online, with three required weekend residencies.

ED in Special Education Early Childhoode

MS ED in Special Education Early Childhood

This 36-credit program prepares you to support infants, toddlers, preschoolers, early elementary children, and their families in inclusive, integrated, and self-contained classrooms, as well as homes and communities. Graduates go on to earn certification in Students with Disabilities, Birth to Grade 2. Prior initial certification in Early Childhood is required to apply.

This 48-credit program leads to an initial certification in Early Childhood and a certification in Special Education. This 36-credit program prepares you to teach diverse learners (grades 1-6) who present with disabilities, in both inclusive and specialized urban settings. The program leads to initial or professional certification in New York State.

MS ED in Special Education Childhood (Dual Certification)

MS ED in Special Education Childhood (Dual Certification)

This 48-credit program prepares you to become a Special Education teacher to elementary school students, grades 1-6, with diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and interests. Graduates of this program are generalists, trained in all subject areas and can work in collaborative co-taught classrooms, small group intervention classes, and in administrative capacities as advocates for students with special needs. The program leads to certification for childhood special education and childhood general education.

MS ED in Special Education Childhood with Bilingual Extension

This 42-credit program prepares you to teach in collaborative teaching environments and self-contained classrooms with a focus on supporting elementary school children who face challenges with learning basic skills in reading, writing and math. The program leads to certification in childhood special education (grades 1-6) with a bilingual extension once the Bilingual Education Assessment (BEA) exam is passed. Prior initial certification in Childhood Education is required.

This 48-credit program prepares you to teach in collaborative teaching environments and self-contained classrooms, with a focus on support for elementary school children who face challenges with learning basic skills in reading, writing, and math. Upon completion of this program, and successful examination scores, you will be certified to teach both childhood special education (grades 1-6), and childhood general education (grades 1-6) with a bilingual extension. The Bilingual Education Assessment (BEA) exam is also required.
