GPS Academic & Student Support Services

Career Exploration & Development Center

The Career Exploration & Development Center provides GPS students with opportunities to participate in a variety of activities in which they are taught how to evaluate and use the results of academic and occupational assessments in selecting majors and possible careers. They will receive information and guidance through individual career advising appointments, workshops, seminars, and collaborative partnerships with other student support offices throughout the campus community.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center offers GPS students a range of services for success and to promote personal and academic growth. Support is provided via individual and group counseling, workshops, class presentations and campus wide events to promote personal and academic growth.

Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office at Lehman College helps students apply for, receive and maintain eligibility for various types of financial aid. This offers our incoming students the highest level of customer service.

Instructional Support Services

The Instructional Support Services Program is the umbrella for two of the tutoring centers on campus: the Lehman Tutoring Center and the Science Learning Center. The Lehman Tutoring Center (LTC) and the Science Learning Center (SLC) facilitate GPS students’ academic success. LTC provides appointment-based and drop-in tutoring in the humanities, social sciences, and writing; general academic and writing skills workshops; supplemental instruction (peer assisted weekly review sessions) for select courses, as well as academic coaching on study skills. The SLC provides drop-in tutoring for natural science courses.

Learning Recovery Program

A multidisciplinary program that offers students a dedicated success team for social and emotional support, enhanced academic support, additional advising resources, and faculty development focused on the needs of students whose school experiences were dramatically impacted by the pandemic.
