PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The NYCMP is a New York City Approved provider of Professional Learning Services and is a New York State approved sponsor to provide CTLE credit.

On-Site Consulting/Embedded Coaching and Classroom Support NYCMP consultants:

provide in class support for teachers in planning lessons, units and projects aligned with the Next Generation/Common Core Learning Standards; coach and model in classrooms; team teach; examine samples of student work and analyze performance tasks and assessment data to determine the implications for instruction and future instructional goals; create lab sites; and organize and facilitate meetings to assist school planning teams to review and design strategies to support curricula, assessment, and pedagogy in classrooms. NYCMP consultants are former NYCDOE coaches and supervisors with years of experience.

Graduate Education Seminars, Workshops and Study Groups

are designed to help participants develop the content knowledge and pedagogical skills necessary for effective mathematics instruction and assessment in the elementary, middle, and high school grades and are aligned with the Next Generation /Common Core Learning Standards. They address specific instructional or curricular needs and goals from practical and theoretical perspectives, and are designed for educators to enrich their repertoire of teaching strategies, explore a particular topic, or to address the needs of particular audiences such as new teachers, or ELL teachers.

Leadership Institutes for Principals, Assistant Principals, Mathematics Coaches and Teacher Leaders

Institutes are designed to strengthen support for the Next Generation /Common Core Learning Standards for teaching and learning mathematics through exploration of mathematics content, curriculum, standards, assessment, and technology. School leaders are provided with a range of strategies for improving instruction in mathematics and supporting student achievement.
