Financial Literacy Learning Modules

These modules will walk students through the Federal Aid Programs, the NYS Tuition Assistance Program, NYS Excelsior Scholarship, internal and external scholarships, grants, campus employment, and other aid opportunities.

This module welcomes students and/or parents to the Financial Aid Literacy modules and gives a broad introduction to what the course will entail.

This module provides a brief overview of what the overall Financial Aid Literacy Modules entails and the various offices that are involved in the Financial Aid process at Lehman College.

The first part of the Federal Aid modules introduces students to what Federal Aid is, how their awards are determined and the documents they will need to complete their FAFSA applications.

The second Financial Aid module informs the audience about the types of Federal awards available to students such as grants and work study, as well as how to maintain the eligibility needed to continue receiving these awards.

The third Federal Aid module focuses on loans: what are loans, what types of loans are available and how to maintain and repay your loans.

This module is an introduction to State Aid and informs students about the basics of State Aid to include TAP, Excelsior, Part Time awards, and maintaining eligibility.

This module reviews what scholarships are available to students, how to apply for scholarships, and maintaining eligibility.

This module reviews the importance of FERPA, accurate biographical and demographic data, how to submit iDeclare requests, as well as uploading student documents via Lehman 360.

The first part of the Bursar module introduces students to the Office of the Bursar and its functions, as well as where they would be able to view their tuition balance.

The second part of the Bursar module introduces the payment options available to students, how to enroll in direct deposit and what is the IRS Form 1098-T.

This module reviews how to apply for Federal Aid via the FAFSA.

This module reviews how to apply for State Aid via HESC.

This module is to familiarize parents with what will be needed from them to ensure that their dependent has the financial tools needed to begin their semester successfully.
