Media Relations & Publications

Lehman’s Office of Media Relations and Publications handles both internal and external communications for the College. The office also serves the College community as both a design and editorial firm, working closely with academic and administrative departments to promote the College across the media landscape including in print and online. We also create professional editorial content and design marketing materials to help departments meet their academic and professional goals.

Services include:

  • Creating editorial content for the College website and external constituencies
  • Digital and print publications (invitations, brochures, newsletters, etc.)
  • Graphic design (posters, flyers, etc.)
  • Media relations                                                                                                   
  • Advertising and media campaigns
  • Event promotion

In order to work with the Office of Media Relations and Publications, we ask that you fill out the Request Form (PDF), detailing your project and request a meeting if necessary. Someone in the office will get back to you in 24 hours.

If your project requires a meeting, the Office will contact you to set one up. Please bring the following information to the meeting so we can make the best use of our time:

  • Project expectations and deliverables
  • Target audience and proposed outreach methods
  • Editorial content (draft or at least a rough outline)
  • Budget
  • Project deadline

The Office of Media Relations and Publications will work with you to establish an actionable project plan; one that assures everyone is aligned from the start, and understands responsibilities and deadlines throughout the projected timeline.

As a central and much-used resource for the College, the Office of Media Relations and Publications has to dedicate its editorial, creative, production, and printing resources across the entire institution. Every project timeline takes into account the number of projects already in its editorial, design, and production pipeline. All editorial stories need at least 2 weeks; longer deadlines are needed for event promotion and publication production. The more advance notice you can give the department the better.

All requests for press releases or web stories will be considered; stories on academic departments will be prioritized in conjunction with the appropriate Dean and/or Associate Dean. Placement of stories on the homepage, the Lehman News Center, social media channels, and in external media is the decision of the Office of Media Relations and Publications.

All stories can be made available to principles, prior to publication, for review for accuracy.

Please forward any existing photographs you may have of relevant events, students, or faculty. Photos must be hi-resolution (pixels TK x TK).
